EUACS Wins Black Male Engagement Grant!

Eastern University Academy CEO and Principal Omar Barlow was among 50 men out of 400 applicants awarded a grant by BMe (The Black Male Engagement Initiative). BMe: “The network of inspired black men and their friends” awarded a total of $600,000 in small grants paid for by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Open Society Foundations Campaign for Black Male Achievement. The men weren’t awarded the grants just for what they do, but for who they are and what they represent. News of the award was featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. 20 Black Leadership Award Winners Share $200,000.
